This is a detailed list of websites that I recommend for student learning, both in the classroom and at home. Most of these resources are also available as an app for an iPad or phone.

Raz-Kids (Part of Learning A-Z)

This online resource is a fantastic way to foster reading within kindergarten through fifth grade students.  The source has multiple books at each level in both fiction and non-fiction so that children are always reading at their "just right" level.  In the "level up" section, students are motivated to read by earning stars for each story and set of comprehension questions they complete!

ABC Mouse

ABC Mouse is a great resource for young learners (suggested on their website for ages 2-8).  With over 5,000 learning activities including games, songs, puzzles and more, this website is a fun and engaging way for students to explore topics such as letter recognition, number identification, sight words and more.

IXL

This resource has extensive activities in all main subject areas for students in grades kindergarten through twelfth.  My kindergarten class uses IXL to practice mathematics skills in particular.  Each subject area has a multitude of fun, engaging activities covering the Common Core Standards for that grade level.

GoNoodle

Get those bodies moving with this fun, motivating movement resource!  A favorite in our classroom, students choose a character to "grow" by completing dances and exercise activities.  With hundreds of videos to choose from, movement activities include yoga, Zumba, balance and coordination, and many more. There are even several videos that focus on relaxation and mindfulness.

National Geographic Kids

This website allows kids to dive into an exploration of countless topics regarding people, places and things on our Earth.  Students can watch videos, play games and read stories about their chosen topic.  From snakes to tornados to the solar system, National Geographic Kids opens up a world of exploration and helps to enhance a child's curiosity.

Writing Wizard

Letter recognition and handwriting are the focus in this writing resource!  Writing Wizard is only available in app form at this time, but is one that is highly beneficial in supporting letter formation for young learners.  Students can use their finger or a stylus pen (recommended) to trace letters using a variety of colors and designs.  This application includes upper and lower case letters, sight words and numbers.

Starfall

Starfall is another favorite in our classroom!  This resource provides a wealth of opportunities for student exploration and practice in letter recognition and letter sounds, sound blending, number recognition and more!  Students learn through songs, games and video clips in this engaging resource.  For additional practice in letter recognition, Starfall also has an additional app titled, Starfall ABCs.

Brain Pop Jr.

This resource provides and fun and educational way for students to practice skills in all main subject areas.  Skill sets such as rhyming, phonics, number identification and measurement are explored through games and engaging video clips.  The activities align to the Common Core Standards, making this a great grade-appropriate choice.

Bugs and Buttons

In this app, students explore number recognition, patterns, counting, sorting and more through exciting games and puzzles.  Students are rewarded for completing activities by earning a bug stamp, which is added to their stamp collection within the game.  The activities in this application are colorful and interactive, making it an engaging and motivating resource for young learners.

Touch and Learn - Emotions

Young learners often have a difficult time understanding and expressing their emotions. In this app, students learn about the different emotions that we can feel and practice identifying the emotions that they see in pictures.  This is a great way to help build a child's social skills, which are essential to their learning and relationship-building within the classroom.
